A sunny, warm day is ahead Thursday in central Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

Rain chances start Friday and continue through Monday, Memorial Day.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 89. South wind 9 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 70. South wind 8 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 85. South wind 7 to 11 mph.

Friday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 68. South, southeast wind 6 to 8 mph.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a high near 85. South wind 8 to 13 mph.

Saturday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 65.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a high near 84.
