Sunny skies are ahead Tuesday with temperatures in the upper 70s in Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

There next chance for rain in central Oklahoma is Wednesday night.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 79. North wind 7 to 13 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 56. Southeast wind around 9 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 84. South wind 13 to 18 mph increasing to 19 to 24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph.

Wednesday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Increasing clouds with a low around 62. Windy with a south, southeast wind 18 to 26 mph with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 80. North, northwest wind 13 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low around 54.

Friday: Sunny with a high near 83.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 64.
