There's plenty to do for July Fourth

Fourth of July events in the Oklahoma City metro area and around the state. All events are Wednesday, unless otherwise noted:

Metro area

Bethany: Freedom Festival, Eldon Lyon Park, 7400 NW 36, 10 a.m. Parade, carnival, classic car show, petting zoo and live music. Fireworks at 9:55 p.m. Information: www.cityofbethany.org.

Choctaw: Fireworks at dusk on Thursday, Lloyd Williamson Park on Dean Street. Information: 390-8198.

Edmond: LibertyFest Parade downtown at 9 a.m.; ParkFest — with food, activities and live music — at University of Central Oklahoma, 100 N University, at 6:30 p.m.; fireworks at 10 p.m. Information: www.libertyfest.org.

McLoud: Blackberry festival, Friday and Saturday. Parade and fireworks on Saturday. Information: 964-6566.

Midwest City: Tribute to Liberty, Joe B. Barnes Regional Park near Reno and Midwest Boulevard. Performance by “Hook” at 6 p.m. followed by fireworks. Information: 375-4445.

Moore: Art in the Park: A Celebration in the Heartland, Buck Thomas Park, 1901 NE 12. Live music, crafts, food, carnival, car show and children's activities, 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, followed by fireworks. Information: www.facebook.com/cityofmoore.

Mustang: Do-it-yourself fireworks celebration, 6:30 p.m., Wild Horse Park, 1201 N Mustang Road. Information: 374-3411.

Norman: Norman Day, Reaves Park, 2501 Jenkins Ave, 4 p.m. Family-friendly games, activities and free watermelon. Music starting at 5 p.m., fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Information: www.normanfun.com.

Piedmont: Games and food at Piedmont Elementary, 1011 Piedmont Road, at 5 p.m. Patriotic parade at 7 p.m. Freestyle motocross demonstration by Derek Cook before and after parade, followed by fireworks. Information: 373-2234.

Purcell: Festival all day Saturday, including food vendors, games and fireworks at sundown, Purcell City Lake on Chandler Road. Information: 527-3093.

Tuttle: Fireworks, Bell Cow Lake, at dusk. Information: 258-3200.

Yukon: Freedom Fest at Yukon City Park, 2200 S Holly, including car show, children's parade, contests and food. 10 a.m. Concerts at Chisholm Trail Park, 500 W Vandament, at 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Oklahoma City Philharmonic to perform patriotic songs at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by fireworks. Information: 354-1895.
