Super 30: Broken Arrow's Cre Moore a rare commodity
Big, fast cornerback has 10 college offers so far.
BROKEN ARROW — There are three words that, when put together to describe a player, infatuate college football coaches.
No. 16: Cre Moore
School: Broken Arrow
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 175
Position: Cornerback
Offers: Kansas, Kansas State, Tulsa, Houston, Memphis and Colorado State highlight a list of 10 offers in all.
Big. Fast. Cornerback.
Broken Arrow's Cre Moore, No. 16 on The Oklahoman's Super 30 recruiting list, stands 6 feet tall and weighs a solid 175 pounds. He was timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.40 seconds during a summer camp at the University of Tulsa, one of the 10 college teams to offer him a scholarship.
Kansas, Kansas State, Houston, Memphis, Arkansas State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Wyoming and South Dakota complete the list — so far. Oklahoma State and Arkansas have also shown interest after his attendance at their camps.
“A lot of coaches say it's uncommon to find a 6-foot corner with good speed,” said Moore, who shared time last season with another Division I prospect, Levi Copelin.
With Copelin now at Missouri, Moore knows he stands a chance to make an even bigger impact for Broken Arrow, along with Jalen Woodard, who returns at the other cornerback spot.
“I'll have a lot more opportunities to make plays,” Moore said. “I've got to do what I have to do. I like to press a lot, play tight on the receiver — that's my favorite. It makes it harder for him to catch the ball, and it makes it harder for the quarterback to get it to him.”
