His leg fully healed, Martin already knows he doesn't have to wonder how the bone will hold up.
"We just got back from team camp and I think I'm already better than I was,” said the 18-year old. "One thing about having to stand on the sideline, I got to learn more about the position and see mistakes and learn off of that. So, that part was a good opportunity.”
But that was the only part. Standing in street clothes and watching his teammates on Friday nights left Martin just short of a frenzy.
"Hated it,” he said. "It was like watching your little brother get in a fight and there's nothing you can do about it.”
As driven as he was to get back on the field last year, Martin is even more so when it comes to his expectations for his senior campaign.
"Last year I was hyped up and with that injury I didn't get to show my full potential,” he said. "So this year, I will live up to what I'm expected to be and more.”
