A national touring company whose mission is to teach children about nutrition, exercise and good health through lively performances and interactive media stopped Monday at Myriad Gardens.
The free Super Sprowtz performance, part of a 26-city tour, took place on the Band Shell.
“Part of the mission of the Gardens is wellness and fitness, and we know how important it is to instill good habits in young children,” said Gardens Executive Director Maureen Heffernan. “The Super Sprowtz performance is lively and fun, and sends great messages to kids and parents about nutrition. We’re pleased to be a stop on the tour.”
Colby Carrot, Brian Broccoli and Erica Eggplant lead audiences through superhero training camp featuring songs, dancing and games.
Super Sprowtz has performed for more than 250,000 children and families at venues including the White House at last year’s Easter Egg Roll, Life Is Beautiful Music Festival in Las Vegas, Reebok’s headquarters in Boston and in New York at The Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Lincoln Center for the Arts in Manhattan, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and The Bronx Zoo in New York City.
The characters have appeared with first lady Michelle Obama, Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges, sports star Shaquille O’Neal and celebrity chef Todd English.
