Superman and Wonder Woman featured in Valentine's week release

DC Comics' “super couple” of Superman and Wonder Woman is featured in ongoing comic book series

The course of true love never did run smooth, William Shakespeare wrote, and while he never penned an issue of “Action Comics,” his statement remains true for comic-book heroes.

Superman's marriage to Lois Lane disappeared when his world was altered in DC Comics' “New 52.”

Superman's currently in a relationship with Wonder Woman, and the pair team up in the comic book series “Superman/Wonder Woman,” by the creative team of Charles Soule and Tony Daniel.

“They are definitely still in that honeymoon period where they really like each other, they really like every minute that they get to spend with each other, but they don't know every last thing there is to know yet,” Soule told Newsarama.com.

“They're not into the second stage of the relationship yet. They're still in the first stage.”

The pair of Superman and Wonder Woman co-starred in a Valentine's Day special in 2013, but in this week's “Superman/Wonder Woman” No. 5, on sale this week, Wonder Woman raises questions about the pair's relationship.

Still, with an ongoing series as a couple, merchandise planned, and the possibility of seeing Wonder Woman in the upcoming “Superman vs. Batman” movie, it's likely DC's “power couple” has more stories in store.
