“A lot of people we haven't seen before did come in for the Superman-Wonder Woman kiss,” he said. “As long as they tell a solid story, that's all that really matters to me.”

In addition to Superman and Wonder Woman, “Young Romance” will feature stories featuring Batgirl, Catwoman, Aquaman, Apollo, Midnighter and Nightwing, among others.

The issue, which shipped with perforated Valentine's Day cards, went on sale Wednesday. Writers are Andy Diggle, Ann Nocenti, Cecil Castellucci, Peter Milligan, Kyle Higgins, and Ray Fawkes. Artists for the issue are Emanuela Lupacchino, Jaime Mendoza, Inaki Miranda, Julius Gopez, Simon Bisley, Sanford Greene, Robson Rocha and Julio Ferreira.

The title “Young Romance” has a long history; the title was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby in 1947, and is considered to be the first romance comic.

Diggle, the writer of the Superman-Wonder Woman story “Truth or Dare,” is set to take over as the writer of “Action Comics” in March with issue No. 18, joining artist Tony Daniel.
