'Superman' writer Sterling Gates to appear in OKC metro

Comic-book writer Sterling Gates will appear at metro-area libraries and a comic book store this week to celebrate the “Man of Steel” movie.

Gates, New York Times best-selling writer of comics including “Superman: Last Stand on New Krypton,” “Superman: War of the Supermen,” and a prequel digital comic for “Man of Steel,” will appear at comic-writing workshops at four metro libraries:

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Edmond Library, 10 S Boulevard. Call 341-9282 for more information.

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Northwest Library, 5600 NW 122nd. Call 606-3580 for more information.

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Capitol Hill Library, 334 SW 26th. Call 634-6308 for more information.

2 p.m. to3 p.m. Saturday, Midwest City Library, 8143 E Reno. Call 732-4828 for more information.

Gates will also appear at a signing at my comic shop, Speeding Bullet Comics, 614 N Porter in Norman, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.   He’ll also sign a comic we worked on together, “The Posthuman Project” No. 0, the comic-book prequel to the film we wrote, directed by NewsOK’s Kyle Roberts.
