— Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt on Monday sought an execution date for death row inmate Steven Ray Thacker, whose crime spree in late 1999 and early 2000 included slayings in Oklahoma, Missouri and Tennessee.

Pruitt's request to the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals for an execution in 60 days came after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Thacker's final appeal.

Thacker's Oklahoma death sentence was handed down for the kidnapping, rape and murder of Laci Dawn Hill, of Bixby, who was 25 when Thacker stabbed her to death on Dec. 23, 1999. He was given a death sentence in Tennessee in February 2002 for killing the tow-truck driver; his sentence in the Oklahoma murder came in December, 2002; he received a life sentence in Missouri for the killing in that state.
