VINITA — A man arrested on two complaints after he was shot by police Wednesday faces an additional complaint of criminal impersonation, authorities say.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation initially reported Michael O'Mara, 24, of Wichita, Kan., was arrested on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The man who identified himself as O'Mara actually is Kenneth Lee Ilderton, 26, of Wichita, Kan., according to the OSBI.
Ilderton is being held in the Craig County jail on an additional complaint of criminal impersonation. He also had several felony warrants for his arrest, authorities said.
Vinita and Big Cabin police officers fired at Ilderton's vehicle early Wednesday as he drove toward them near the U.S. 69 and State Highway 66 junction, the OSBI reported.
The OSBI has not released the names of the officers involved.
