Suspects charged in fatal drive-by shooting of 14-year-old girl

First-degree murder and robbery charges were filed against two Tulsa men in the shooting death of a 14-year-old girl.

David Ruble II, 19, and Demonte Wayne Rushing, 21, were charged Tuesday in Tulsa County District Court with single counts of first-degree murder and attempted robbery in the death of April Montano, court filings show.

Montano, a student at Thoreau Demonstration Academy, was riding with family members in a pickup that was hauling all-terrain vehicles on the Gilcrease Expressway when she was shot in the head about 9 p.m. May 29.
