Switching badges: From sheriff to police chief

ARDMORE -- He carries a badge and has for years. But Ken Grace gave up his Carter County sheriff's badge to become Ardmore's new police chief Wednesday.

The Daily Ardmoreite reports that City Manager J.D. Spohn made the announcement during a news conference.

The appointment is expected to be confirmed by the city commission on Oct. 7 and Grace's first actual day on the job should be Jan. 2.
