Tackle the Storm Foundation, a charity founded by Bassmaster.com fishing writer Don Barone, distributed free rod and reels Saturday to more than 250 children who took part in the annual Kids Fishing Derby in Moore.

Barone organized the charity to replace the fishing gear for storm victims after an F4 tornado struck Cullman, Ala., in 2011.

On hand Saturday at Buck Thomas Park to help distribute the free gear and fish with the kids were B.A.S.S. Elite Series pros Jason Christie, Fred Roumbanis, Tommy Biffle, Edwin Evers, Kevin Ledoux and Brent Chapman.

Also helping were Lady Bass Anglers Association Pros Sherri Glasgow and Robin Babb.

Members of the North Oklahoma City, Sooner, Mid-Oklahoma and OKC Junior Bassmasters clubs also participated in the event.
