First Tuesday Benefit set
EDMOND — Fish City Grill, 1389 E 15th, has designated the Edmond Senior Community Foundation to receive 15 percent of proceeds of daily sales Oct. 7 as part of its monthly First Tuesday Benefit program. Beef jerky tops category
Beef Jerky Emporium's hot beef jerky garnered a Golden Chile Award at ZestFest, sponsored by Chile Pepper magazine and held recently in Fort Worth, Texas. The hot beef jerky topped the jerky category at the event, which is held annually. Prizes were awarded in 80 different categories for all types of spicy foods.
Mark A. Garvey, founder of the Oklahoma City jerky stores at Interstate 40 and Meridian and N May Avenue and Britton Road, won the jerky award for a second time. For more information, go online to www.tbje.com.
Cooking Light winner chosen
The $20,000 winning recipe in the Cooking Light Ultimate Reader Recipe Contest has been named. Ranch Steak Bruschetta Salad, entered by Devon Delaney of Princeton, N.J., topped the contest, held in Birmingham, Ala. Oklahoman Judy Holder of Elk City was among the contestants; she prepared Blackeye Pea Salad. The contest recipes will be featured in the January/February issue of Cooking Light.
