After several days of very warm weather, colder air will return behind a cold front
tonight into early Friday.
Precipitation chances will increase Friday night as a low pressure system approaches the area.
Precipitation will continue on Saturday when it will be most widespread.
Northern Oklahoma will have the best chances for freezing rain, mainly
during the morning hours, before changing over to rain or
perhaps snow in far northwest Oklahoma.
Mainly rain and thunderstorms can be expected across
much of Oklahoma and western north Texas along with heavy rainfall.
Precipitation will generally change to snow across much of the area Saturday night
before ending, except for southeast Oklahoma where rain can be expected.
Some snow accumulations are likely across northern Oklahoma.
Accumulating snow will likely occur across northern Oklahoma late Saturday afternoon
through Sunday morning. The heaviest amounts up to 4 inches are forecast near the
Oklahoma and Kansas state line.
