Tasting event to complement Chinasaurs exhibit in Norman

Chinese-inspired cuisine will be offered during a tasting event held in conjunction with the Chinasaurs exhibit at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.

NORMAN — Cultural enthusiasts can enjoy a sampling of Chinese-inspired cuisine and a variety of wines while exploring the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History's exhibition “Chinasaurs: Dinosaur Discoveries from China” at a tasting scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2.

The event is for adults 21 and older. Tickets are $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Space is limited and preregistration is required.

The Chinasaurs exhibit, sponsored by ConocoPhillips, is the creation of dinosaur explorer Don “Dino” Lessem, author of more than 50 books on dinosaurs. Lessem also is a dinosaur columnist for Highlights Magazine for Children.

Lessem has been exploring and researching Chinese dinosaurs since 1988 and personally arranged the loan of the exhibit from Chinese paleontologists.

A dozen replicas of rare Chinese dinosaurs are featured in the exhibition. Complementing the dinosaurs are fossil dinosaur eggs and nests and numerous bones of the Jurassic plant-eating Lufengosaurus and the Cretaceous plant-eating Psittacosaurus.
