Armed robbers shot an Oklahoma City art teacher Monday outside of his home in southwest Oklahoma City, authorities said.

The robbery was one of three that occurred in quick succession and close together about 6:30 a.m. Police think they are connected, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

The man shot was Southeast High School art teacher Cameron Lewis, police and Oklahoma City Public Schools spokeswoman Tierney Tinnin confirmed.

His injuries are believed to be minor, Knight said. He was shot in the upper leg and hip area, Knight said.

Police are seeking an armed man accompanied by two women in all three robberies.

The victims were either walking to a car or scraping frost off a windshield when approached by the robbers.

Women had their purses stolen in separate incidents at 231 SW 59 and 6320 S Robinson Ave. Lewis was robbed and shot at 8 SW 55.

The Emergency Management Services Authority did not have a record of taking someone to a hospital from the address for Lewis, said spokeswoman Lara O'Leary.

Police have not released detailed descriptions of the robbers or their car.
