A Villa Park High School student has filed a civil lawsuit against his history teacher, alleging he challenged the student to an arm-wrestling contest in front of his class, and the bout broke the student’s arm, according to court documents.

The Orange County Register reports the mother of Austin Lazarus, a 17-year-old junior at the time, said the teacher used “poor judgment.”

The lawsuit contends that teacher Zachary Larkin used both hands and his full body weight during the June 2013 contest against Lazarus, now 18 and a senior.
