Teachers of year named for Edmond
Award: Portfolios to be submitted for district honor

The Edmond School District has released its site teachers of the year for the 2009-10 school year. These teachers were nominated for the honor by their peers. Associate Superintendent Brenda Lyons said the site teachers of the year will submit portfolios to the district’s teacher of the year selection committee and a district teacher of year will be announced in March. The winner then will be in the running for the state Teacher of the Year award.

Site Teachers of the Year for 2009-10 are:

Kari Takagishi — Charles Haskell Elementary

Susan Shoemaker — Chisholm Elementary

Brenda Miller — Clegern/Clyde Howell Elementary

Pam Commons — Cross Timbers Elementary

David Nichols — Ida Freeman Elementary

Kristen Jacobs — John Ross Elementary

Mary Foreman — Northern Hills Elementary

Amy David — Orvis Risner Elementary

Jennifer Donahue — Russell Dougherty Elementary

Cathy Sudduth — Sunset Elementary

Miranda Lawrence — Washington Irving Elementary

Nora Hurley — West Field Elementary

Katy Geist — Will Rogers Elementary

Chris Cunningham — Central Middle School
