Technological advances to watch

Jason Silva, host of the National Geographic Channel's “Brain Games,” looks forward to developments bridging the real and digital worlds like Google Glass attempts to do with wearable technology. Such innovations get us away from staring at screens, he said. Google Glass is a heads-up display that allows wearers access to the Internet and mobile applications through screens worn over the eyes like glasses. Silva also said he was excited about the “quantified self-revolution,” which includes things like watches that measure our pulse and pills that offer real-time data about what's going on in our bodies.
