Young woman dies in head-on vehicle accident near Hartshorne

HARTSHORNE — A 19-year-old Tuskahoma woman died this morning after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Latimer County, authorities said.

Kelsey Lucas was pronounced dead at a McAlester hospital.

Shortly before 7:45 a.m. today, Lucas was driving west on State Highway 1, four miles east of Hartshorne, when her vehicle crossed the median and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Margaret A. Yocco, 67, of Eufaula, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Yocco and her passenger — Mary Risenhoover, 76, of Eufaula — were taken in fair condition to a McAlester hospital.

All motorists were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
