Temperatures below freezing in central Oklahoma Wednesday

Temperatures are below freezing Wednesday morning in central Oklahoma with a wind chill below zero, the National Weather Service reports.

Sunshine will help warm up central Oklahoma Wednesday, but not above freezing, with a high temperature near 30.

Black ice could be a problem for motorists in some parts of Oklahoma City Wednesday, mainly on less traveled side streets, driveways and parking lots.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 30. Wind chill values as low as minus 1. North, northwest wind 8 to 13 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Light south wind becoming south, southeast 6 to 11 mph in the evening.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 37. South wind 13 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 24. South, southeast wind 6 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight.

Friday: A slight chance of snow before noon then a slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy with a high near 35. North wind 9 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 10 percent.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 21.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 39.

Saturday night: Mostly clear with a low around 25.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 46.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 34.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy with a high near 41.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.

New Year's Day: Mostly cloudy with a high near 38.
