Temperatures heating up in central Oklahoma Thursday

Temperatures will be in the 90s Thursday in central Oklahoma. Winds will be out of the south.

A hot Thursday is ahead in central Oklahoma with wind gusts from the south, the National Weather Service reports.

Rain is on the way early Saturday.

The forecast for Oklahoma City is as follows:

Thursday: Sunny with a high near 92. South wind 9 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low around 68. South, southeast wind 7 to 13 mph.

Friday: Sunny with a high near 88. South wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Friday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Increasing clouds with a low around 69. South, southeast wind 9 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 78. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Saturday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 60.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 78.

Sunday night: Mostly clear with a low around 57.

Monday: Sunny with a high near 81.

Monday night: Mostly clear with a low around 61.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 83.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 67.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 85.
