Sunshine is expected Tuesday in central Oklahoma with temperatures in the 50s, the National Weather Service reports.

There is a chance for showers Wednesday.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 55. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming east, southeast in the afternoon.

Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy with a low around 35. East, southeast wind 9 to 13 mph.

Wednesday: Showers likely with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Cloudy with a high near 42. East, southeast wind 11 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Wednesday night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 38. East, southeast wind 15 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers before noon. Mostly sunny with a high near 56.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 27.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 49.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 30.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a high near 53.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 38.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 60.
