Temperatures in the 80s with high winds Friday

Central Oklahoma temperatures are rising. The high will be near 83 degrees Friday with gusty winds.

A sunny day with a high temperature near 83 degrees will be windy with gusts up to 28 mph in central Oklahoma, the National Weather Service.

Dry, warm and windy conditions can increase wildfire danger.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: Sunny with a high near 83. South, southwest wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 53. South wind 14 to 17 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 72. South wind 6 to 14 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 47. North, northeast wind 20 to 23 mph with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy with a high near 56. North, northeast wind 11 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy with a low around 44.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 59.

Monday night: Mostly clear with a low around 36.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 61.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 46.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 66.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 48.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy with a high near 63.
