Temperatures not as hot Friday in central Oklahoma

Temperatures are cooling down in central Oklahoma Friday. Saturday and Sunday will bring even cooler temperatures.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler in central Oklahoma Friday with an even cooler weekend ahead.

After scorching temperatures Thursday, on Friday the high will be near 96. Then Saturday, temperatures drop slightly to a high near 90. By Sunday the high temperatures will be in the mid-80s.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: Cloudy through mid-morning then gradual clearing with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 99. Northwest wind 13 to 17 mph becoming north, northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 70. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north, northeast.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 90. North wind 5 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 66. North, northeast wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light north after midnight.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 84. North wind 6 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 61.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 83.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 83.

Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 63.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 84.
