Temperatures on the rise in Oklahoma through Labor Day weekend

Hot temperatures are ahead for Oklahoma. Saturday will be over 100 degrees with heat in forecast through Labor Day

Temperatures are heating up in central Oklahoma Thursday, the National Weather Service reports.

Sunny skies are ahead with a high temperature near 96 degrees. Friday will be even hotter with a high near 99 degrees. And Saturday temperatures will top the century mark.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 96. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low around 75. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Friday: Sunny and hot with a high near 99. South wind 3 to 7 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 76. South, southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 101. South, southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear with a low around 77.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 98.

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy with a low around 74.

Labor Day: Mostly sunny with a high near 93.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 70.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 91.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 68.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 94.
