Rain chances continue and sweltering temperatures are ahead Thursday in Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely mainly before 7 a.m. Partly sunny with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 97. Northeast wind 8 to 11 mph becoming south, southeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Thursday night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South wind 6 to 9 mph becoming east northeast in the evening.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. West wind 7 to 13 mph.

Friday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. West wind 11 to 14 mph becoming north northwest in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a high near 89. North wind 10 to 13 mph.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 73.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 92.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy with a low around 74.
