Test scores improve but more Oklahoma schools fail

The number of schools on the federal needs improvement list more than doubled this year as increased standards made it tougher for both students and schools to meet proficiency on state tests.

Across the state, 90 schools were marked as in need of improvement, a designation that can mean federally mandated sanctions for a school if it remains on the list for more than three years.
