Texans to hire Penn State's Bill O'Brien as coach

In it's darkest hour, Bill O'Brien was cast to bring stability to Penn State football. Now, he'll get the opportunity to work in the NFL.

As confirmed by CBSSports.com, the Texans have reached an agreement with the Penn State coach, who will be named coach in Houston by the end of the week. O'Brien is slated to become the third head coach in team history.

The hire will leave the Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns as the remaining open coaching vacancies.
