WHAT'S AT STAKE

Texas A&M is trying to continue its successful first season in the Southeastern Conference. The Aggies are putting up big offensive numbers, averaging more than 45 points per game. Mississippi State wants to bounce back from its first loss of the season — a 38-7 setback against No. 1 Alabama.

KEY MATCHUP

Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel against Mississippi State's secondary. The redshirt freshman Manziel has enjoyed a breakout season, leading the SEC with 99.1 yards rushing per game and 376.1 yards of total offense. He'll go against a Mississippi State defense that's picked off 12 passes this season and returned two for touchdowns.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Texas A&M: DE Damonte Moore. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound junior is having an absolute monster season for the Aggies. He leads the SEC with 18 tackles for a loss and 10½ sacks. He has a team-high 65 tackles, which is the most for a defensive lineman in all of the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Mississippi State: DB Johnthan Banks. The 6-foot-2 senior cornerback is the leader of Mississippi State's veteran secondary. He has four interceptions that he's returned for a total of 124 yards and leads the defense with five pass breakups.
