A Midland, Texas, couple has donated $1 million to fund student scholarships and renovate Oklahoma Christian's Benson Hall.
President John deSteiguer says the contribution made by Jill and Cary Brown will go toward renovating the Terry and Marty Johnson Administrative Suite, which is named after Jill Brown's parents. Terry Johnson was president of Oklahoma Christian from 1974 to 1996.
Benson Hall was one of the four original academic facilities built when Oklahoma Christian relocated to Oklahoma City from Bartlesville in 1958.
The gift from the Browns is the third seven-figure gift Oklahoma Christian has received in the past three months.
Other donations were $1 million from Mo and Richard Anderson and the anchor gift for a new softball stadium from Ricky and Kelly Lawson.
