Texas Rangers retain broadcast teams

Published: November 1, 2012

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers are retaining for another season the broadcasting teams with whom they finished the 2012 season.

The Rangers announced Thursday that Eric Nadel and Matt Hicks again will be by the microphones for the team's radio broadcasts, while Steve Busby and Tom Grieve will again be the faces of the franchise on television. Eleno Ornelas will be lead play-by-play announcer on the Rangers' Spanish-language broadcasts.

The Rangers did not renew the contract of Dave Barnett, who had teamed with Grieve at the outset of the 2012 season but left the telecast July 2 for medical reasons.

Nadel will be in his 35th season with the Rangers broadcast. Grieve, a former Rangers outfielder and general manager, will be in his 19th season on the Rangers telecast.
