Texas Stars shut out Barons

The Texas Stars shut out the Oklahoma City Barons 4-0 in an American Hockey League game in Cedar Park, Texas, Saturday night.

Barons goalie Niko Hovinen made 23 saves in his first AHL regulation loss. Jack Campbell made 20 saves in his second shutout of the season for the Stars.

Matt Fraser had two goals, and Bretton Cameron and Justin Dowling added one apiece for the Stars.

Barons defenseman Theo Peckham was assessed a major for boarding and a game misconduct after a hit on Stars defenseman Alex Chaisson in the third period. The resulting scrum saw Stars defenseman Jordie Benn whistled for roughing and Barons defenseman Randy Jones was assessed a 10-minute misconduct.

The Barons return home next Friday night to take on Houston.
