Colbert was reported missing when he didn't show up for a head count at the motel where the students were staying, according to WFAA-TV in Dallas.

Kristen Colbert and the Wylie principal, Virdie Montgomery, flew to Indianapolis on Friday to join the search for the boy and to post fliers around the Butler campus.

David Vinson, the superintendent with Wylie Independent School District, expressed relief that the boy had been found.

"There are still questions, but the important thing is he is safe. I know that the entire Wylie community, and many others, were praying for him and his family, and this is an answered prayer," Vinson said.

District spokesman Ian Halperin said the students were traveling with several chaperones.
