Texas Tech defenders say Brandon Weeden, Justin Blackmon play 'smart'

Tech coach Tommy Tuberville:

"We got beat by a good football team today. They started running the ball and throwing it in play-action, good offense, and well-executed. Then we couldn't make a play on offense to make a first down. We just dug ourselves a hole."

Tech cornerback D.J. Johnson, on OSU receiver Justin Blackmon:

"I don't know if it was just the fact that he's just that dominant, but he's a smart player. He may run a curl, and we may have it covered and he'd roll out. He just plays with a smart quarterback, and they're on one accord. He's a playmaker."

Tech tailback Eric Stevens:

"We definitely didn't believe we'd be 3-3 at this point ... we had a pretty good game on the ground. But then we started losing the ball in the backfield. We've got to take care of the ball."
