What they were saying inside the Texas Tech lockerroom:

"Guys were trying to do too much. They got caught up in all the hype and everything like that. I give all the credit to the offensive line of Oklahoma. They did an excellent job." — Texas Tech sophomore LB Brian Duncan
"They played well. I can't take anything away from them. At the same time, though, a lot of the plays we would usually make 10 times in a row, we just didn’t make." — Texas Tech sophomore RB Baron Batch
"I think we wanted to do well, then I think we went out there and really overtried. Rather than just doing little routine things, we felt like we had to make the superplay each time." — Texas Tech coach Mike Leach

I agree with Steve. TTU is not, was not, overrated. They came into town and came face to face with a team on a mission, a team trying to live down the ignominy of a defeat to Texas. I believe that if the Sooners met the Longhorns at this point in the season, that the Sooners would be on the winning side of the scoreboard. The Big XII is the strongest conference in college football, end to end. And, at the moment, OU is the best in the Big XII. Stay focused Sooners, and take care of business next Saturday in Stillwater.
Brother lives in Lubbock. He lives near the university. A typical winning Saturday would include a lot of people out celebrating, hanging on street corners, restaurants, pubs. He said at half time he had to go to 7-11 to get ice and the streets were almost abandoned. By the end of the game it was like a quarantine had set in. Everybody was at home downing bottles of Jack.
I like the back-handed compliments Tech was giving OU. It wasn't that OU dominated time of posession; they had it one minute less than Tech. They ran one more play than Tech, but out gained them by over 200 yards. Like Mike Leach said, "OU has been in these types of games". That being said, the Sooners will have to have the same kind of intensity and focus in Stillwater next week. OSU will be waiting for them, trying to do what OU did to the Red Raiders last night.
Boomer Sooner!
New kids on the block NOT used to the big stage. Lubbock is not intimidating, but 84,000 screaming Sooners might have had just a tad to help with making Norman a place to fear for the Red Raiders
OU merits mention in discussion of college... 11/23/2008 NORMAN — The Sooners started jumping early. Jumping, jumping, jumping, like the sidelines were spring loaded. Jumping like kids turned loose in a mattress...
