A 17-year-old girl from Amarillo, Texas, was killed in a crash Thursday in Beckham County.

Amarillo teen dies, five others hurt in I-40 crash

A teenage girl from Amarillo, Texas, was killed in a Beckham County crash Thursday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Raven Mathis, 17, was pronounced dead at a Sayre hospital from head and neck injuries, the patrol reports. She was a passenger in a car that overturned about 2:30 a.m. Thursday on westbound Interstate 40, a mile east of Sayre. Gala Mathis, 54, of Amarillo, was driving west when she drove off the interstate, the report stated. The driver and four other passengers were treated for injuries at the Sayre hospital and released. Everyone was wearing a seat belt.
