In 2013, Texas passed one of the strictest abortion restrictions in the US. What has happened since, as this GIF from Molly Redden at Mother Jones shows, is a massive wave of clinic closings, Vox reports. Before the law passed, the state had 40 abortion clinics. Right now, there are 21 clinics in operation. But that number could drop to 6 in September, when a new wave of regulations takes effect.
In other words: Texas could have 85 percent fewer abortion clinics than it did three years ago.
