Blake Griffin might or might not be leaving for the NBA after this season (wink-wink).
But when Griffin does depart OU, his presence will continue to be felt, maybe for some time.
It’ll be felt with Willie Warren. And Tommy Mason-Griffin and Keith "Tiny” Gallon, OU’s latest top recruits, who, according to buzz, are about to give the Sooners their first pair
of McDonald’s All-Americans in an incoming class.
The chain, it seems, will not be broken anytime soon.
Consider it trickle down recruiting, the impact of getting one guy like Griffin on your campus, and the magnetism he can have in drawing more top talent toward him.
Warren wanted to play with Griffin.
And Mason-Griffin and Gallon want to play with Warren.
And no telling who’s next.
"It’s one of the things that sometimes, if you can get a really good player, and Blake’s special, but also because of the way he plays, he’s popular,” said Sooners coach Jeff Capel. "That can help attract other guys.
"It helped us with Willie. Willie helped us with Tommy and Tiny and the rest of the guys in this class.
