Jason Reynolds of Eufaula used to give very serious retriever training seminars at outdoor shows.

Then, he discovered the audience was more interested in being entertained. His Labrador retrievers became the stars of the show.

“When things would go wrong, people would laugh,” Reynolds said. “My wife told me the more you have fun with it, the more the crowd likes it.”

He still includes some dog obedience lessons in his show, but now it's mostly for entertainment. What the crowd loves the most is his dogs flying through the air and splashing in his mobile 4,000-gallon yellow aquarium.

“There are about seven of us guys in the United States that have these tubs,” said Reynolds, a former Midwest City resident. “I'm the one that's got the yellow tank.”

Reynolds and his Fetch-N-Fish's High Flying Retriever Dog Show are performing at this weekend's Oklahoma Tackle, Hunting and Boat Show at the state fairgrounds.

Reynolds' dogs are scheduled to perform Saturday at noon and 6 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.

Reynolds attends between 25 and 30 outdoor shows across the country each year, giving bass fishing demonstrations and sometimes noodling in his Fish-N-Fetch tank.
