Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor announced Tuesday that the band will perform at 8 p.m. on Sept. 6.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the $178 million, 18,000-seat arena are set for Aug. 30.

Country music star and native Oklahoman Garth Brooks will be on hand for those ceremonies but will not perform.

The Eagles had a string of hits in the 1970s, including "Hotel California," ''Take It Easy," ''Life in the Fast Lane" and "Heartache Tonight." They released a new album last year called "Long Road Out of Eden."
