Who got the shaft: Nebraska. Three points from a Fiesta Bowl berth to the Holiday Bowl as the fifth Big 12 team selected? Ouch. Conspiracy theorists unite!

Lucky Louie: Or in this case, Husky. UConn gets an automatic BCS berth with a 8-4 record including losses to Temple, Rutgers and a shutout loss to Louisville. Next up, Oklahoma!

Shortest trip: San Diego State (Poinsettia Bowl) and Hawaii (Hawaii Bowl) will both play their bowl game on their home field. For a major bowl after Jan. 1, Florida's 132-mile trip to Tampa for the Outback Bowl tops the list.

Longest trip: Stanford to Miami. The Cardinal will travel 3,022 miles to play Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl but it will be worth it to play in their first major bowl game since 2000 (Rose Bowl).

Must see non-BCS matchup: Alabama vs. Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl. The 11-1 Spartans will get the chance to prove themselves against the defending national champions.
