In real life, Czuchry has found more inspiration from the written word than the written law. The 34-year-old actor recently penned a book with his older brother, Dr Mike Czuchry.
Brothers on Life is a journey into the mind and soul told through personal reflections, childhood photographs, and the stories of the two brothers.
Czuchry talked to Parade.com about the season three finale of The Good Wife, his new book, and more.
On being a Good Wife fan himself.
“I love when the characters’ personal and professional lives mix and you get a unique window into their worlds. I think it makes the audience feels like voyeurs. We’re fortunate to have great writers who intertwine all these different characters’ lives. It’s like you’re watching from the outside looking in.”

On playing young, ambitious Harvard-educated lawyer Cary Agos.
“This role has given me a chance to show a lot of different colors. I’m always so grateful when people who are lawyers come up to me on the street and say, ‘I’m a layer and I know somebody like you,’ or ‘ I used to be a lawyer who was vicious like you.’ That means that I’m doing something that’s interesting and believable. I love trying to capture all of Cary’s different shades of vulnerability, cockiness, and ambition. You’re never quite sure what his motives are.”
On the upcoming season finale.
“Cary goes through a very big professional change that will shake up all the different storylines and that will carry into season four. You’re going to see a big professional change that’s been two seasons in the making.”
The Good Wife's Chris Noth: 'Political Scandals Don't Hurt Our Show'
On the TV show’s he always makes sure to DVR.
“I love Homeland and Breaking Bad. I’m looking forward to new seasons of both those shows.”
On his new book, Brothers on Life.
“Working with my brother is something that I’ve always wanted to do. He’s one of my best friends. The process was incredibly fun. We worked hand-in-hand for ten months, from the beginning to the end of the product. It was an incredibly unique experience.
"We come at life from different perspectives. My brother is nine years older than I am. He’s a psychology professor, I’m an actor, and so we look at life in two different ways. We thought it would be interesting to come together and take our unique perspectives and share them with everybody else.”
On the inspiration behind their book.
“This is a book about life and its universal themes and everything that we all experience. I hope that it’s impactful to readers and makes them question their lives and makes them inspired or helps them overcome difficult challenges. It’s one of those books you can put on the coffee table and thumb through the different short stories. I hope this is a meaningful book for people.”
