As resident troublemaker Cary Agos on the CBS hit legal drama, The Good Wife, Matt Czuchry has gone from a first-year lawyer opposing Julianna Margulies’ character to a member of the State Attorney’s staff.
In real life, Czuchry has found more inspiration from the written word than the written law. The 34-year-old actor recently penned a book with his older brother, Dr Mike Czuchry.
Brothers on Life is a journey into the mind and soul told through personal reflections, childhood photographs, and the stories of the two brothers.
Czuchry talked to Parade.com about the season three finale of The Good Wife, his new book, and more.
On being a Good Wife fan himself.
“I love when the characters’ personal and professional lives mix and you get a unique window into their worlds. I think it makes the audience feels like voyeurs. We’re fortunate to have great writers who intertwine all these different characters’ lives. It’s like you’re watching from the outside looking in.”

On playing young, ambitious Harvard-educated lawyer Cary Agos.
“This role has given me a chance to show a lot of different colors. I’m always so grateful when people who are lawyers come up to me on the street and say, ‘I’m a layer and I know somebody like you,’ or ‘ I used to be a lawyer who was vicious like you.’ That means that I’m doing something that’s interesting and believable. I love trying to capture all of Cary’s different shades of vulnerability, cockiness, and ambition. You’re never quite sure what his motives are.”
On the upcoming season finale.
“Cary goes through a very big professional change that will shake up all the different storylines and that will carry into season four.
