Missouri plays OU in San Antonio on Saturday night, seeking its first conference title since 1969. The 10 longest championship droughts among BCS-conference teams:

9. Oklahoma State: 1976 Big Eight tri-championship OSU's only title.

9. (tie) Kentucky: 1976 SEC co-championship only title since Bear Bryant's 1950 team that beat OU in the Sugar Bowl.

8. Missouri: 1969 Big Eight co-champion played Penn State in the Orange Bowl; no January bowls since.

7. Kansas: 1968 Big Eight co-champion played Penn State in the Orange Bowl; no January bowl since.

5. Minnesota: 1967 co-championship was 16th Big Ten title but none in the last 40 years.

5. (tie) Indiana: 1967 Big Ten co-championship was only league title since 1945.

4. Ole Miss: 1963 SEC champ, but not even Archie Manning produced a title since.

3. Mississippi State: 1941 SEC title is Bulldogs' only conference crown, but Jackie Sherrill did win the West Division in 1998.

2. Vanderbilt: 1923 Southern Conference champ, when that league was forerunner of SEC.

1. Iowa State: 1912 Missouri Valley champ, when that forerunner of the Big Eight included Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Washington of St. Louis and Drake.
