Last week, we offered the 10 toughest non-conference schedules among college football's BCS-league teams. Today, the opposite.

•10. Wisconsin: Akron, Marshall, at Fresno State, Cal Poly. At least the Badgers are going to Fresno.

•9. Penn State: Coastal Carolina, Oregon State, Syracuse, Temple. You've got one bad schedule when Temple isn't your weakest foe.

•8. Rutgers: Fresno State, North Carolina, at Navy, Morgan State, Army.

•7. Duke: James Madison, Northwestern, Navy, at Vanderbilt. This is one stout schedule if you're tackling chemistry exams and not tailbacks.

•6. Northwestern: Syracuse, Duke, Southern Illinois, Ohio. Syracuse and Duke are major-conference schools, but just barely.

•5. Arizona: Idaho, Toledo, at New Mexico. Mike Stoops' Wildcats stand out in a Pac-10 loaded with tough schedules.

•4. Minnesota: Northern Illinois, at Bowling Green, Montana State, Florida Atlantic. Howard Schnellenberger's Owls are the cream of this crop.

•3. LSU: Appalachian State, Troy, North Texas, Tulane. Appalachian State is a I-AA power, or this schedule would be even more embarrassing.

•2. Indiana: Western Kentucky, Murray State, Ball State, Eastern Michigan. Avoids the No. 1 slot only because Western Kentucky is a provisional Division I-A school.

•1. Texas Tech: Eastern Washington, at Nevada, SMU, UMass. Two I-AA opponents and no BCS-level foes. Awful. Simply awful.
