This might just work. A way to prevent tanking in the NBA.

Every year in the league, not-so-great teams pretend like they're trying to put a good team on the court, only to bottom out by trading away key players or by giving heavy minutes to rookies. Why? So they'll have better chances at winning the NBA Draft Lottery -- a summer holiday for the league's teams wishing on a star to change their fortunes.

But the league is reportedly working on a way to prevent teams from "tanking," says Grantland.com basketball writer Zach Lowe.

It involves a wheel system in which each team in the NBA is guaranteed a top-6 pick every five seasons. It's an interesting proposed change to a system in dire need of tweaking.
