The Oklahoman High School Athletes of the Week

Boys soccer

Garrett McLaughlin, Heritage Hall

McLaughlin had three goals and an assist in the second-ranked Chargers’ last two matches to close the season with a perfect 13-0 record, heading into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed out of District 5A-1.

Girls soccer

Kinsleigh Robb, Norman

After an 0-7 start, the Tigers earned a home-field playoff berth with Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over No. 12 Edmond Santa Fe, thanks to Robb’s second-half goal. The Norman girls will host McGuinness next Tuesday.

Boys track

Jordan Reed, Edmond Memorial

Reed had a unique double-gold performance at last week’s Edmond Invitational at Edmond North. Reed won the 200 meter dash in a time of 22.05 and he won the discus with a throw of 157 feet, 11 inches.

Girls track

Hailey Matthews, Kingfisher

Won eight gold medals in her last two meets, sweeping the 100- and 300-meter hurdle events, and helping Kingfisher’s 400 and 800 relay teams to wins as well. Her 300 hurdle time of 49.18 set a school record, and the Yellowjackets’ 800 relay time of 1:48.95 was a school record as well.
