Despite a tough week of picks, Trent’s 6-4 mark maintained his five-game lead on Scott and Jacob heading into Week 8 of the football season. Trent is on his own with a couple of picks, taking Harrah in an upset over No. 5 Ada and Yukon in a close one over Midwest City in a crucial district game.

Here’s how The Oklahoman staff picked Week 8′s top 10 games:

Scott
Guthrie 35, Deer Creek 28
McAlester 40, Tulsa Kelley 28
Edmond Memorial 28, Southmoore 21
Anadarko 35, Piedmont 28
Cascia Hall 28, Fort Gibson 21
Edmond Santa Fe 42, Norman 31
Midwest City 24, Yukon 21
Ada 28, Harrah 22
Sharon-Mutual 60, Balko 38
Victory Christian 34, Beggs 20
Lock of the Week: Cascia Hall over Fort Gibson. Both teams have been in and out of the rankings lately, but if not for a late field goal by Sallisaw, we might be talking about Cascia as one of the best teams in 4A. They probably still are, and they’re hot coming off last week’s upset of then-No. 3 Poteau.

Jacob
Guthrie 35, Deer Creek 24
McAlester 38, Tulsa Kelley 28
Edmond Memorial 21, Southmoore 17
Anadarko 28, Piedmont 21
Cascia Hall 24, Fort Gibson 21
Edmond Santa Fe 35, Norman 21
Midwest City 21, Yukon 14
Ada 31, Harrah 24
Sharon-Mutual 48, Balko 24
Victory Christian 42, Beggs 28
Lock of the Week: Edmond Memorial over Southmoore. The Bulldogs’ defense has been superb lately and running back Warren Wand is heating up. Southmoore has great athletes, too, but Memorial has the momentum.

Trent
Guthrie 38, Deer Creek 34
McAlester 52, Tulsa Kelley 49
Edmond Memorial 21, Southmoore 20
Anadarko 28, Piedmont 21
Cascia Hall 27, Fort Gibson 21
Edmond Santa Fe 42, Norman 31
Yukon 21, Midwest City 20
Harrah 28, Ada 27
Sharon-Mutual 43, Balko 40
Victory Christian 49, Beggs 42
Lock of the Week: Edmond Santa Fe over Norman. Santa Fe will likely be without star quarterback Justice Hansen, but the offense will still be in good hands with backup Keaton Torre, who should be able to put up points against a Norman team that’s surrendered at least 30 in all four of its district games.
